(The Community & Compassion Wing of Spandana Oncology Centre)

Spandana Foundation was created with a single belief at its heart — every person, regardless of income, education, or location, deserves access to quality cancer care, awareness, and support. Built on the values of compassion, dignity, and community upliftment, the Foundation works to bridge the gap between advanced medical care and the realities of everyday people across Karnataka and India.

The Foundation is registered as Spandana Cancer Care Foundation, with a mission deeply rooted in service, affordability, and community well-being. It represents the humanitarian arm of Spandana Oncology Centre, ensuring that no patient is left behind due to lack of awareness, finances, or access to timely treatment.

Our Purpose

The Spandana Foundation exists to support individuals and families facing cancer through:

--> Financial assistance for those unable to afford diagnosis or treatment.

--> Awareness programs on early detection and prevention

--> Medical guidance and counseling for patients and caregivers

--> Community outreach to rural, underserved, and vulnerable populations

--> Education, research, and public health initiatives that improve cancer outcomes

These reflect the core objectives laid out in the Trust Deed, including providing medical aid without discrimination, supporting children and the elderly, creating awareness on harmful lifestyle practices, increasing early-detection efforts, and raising the standard of cancer services across India.

Our Values

The Foundation stands on the principles outlined in its formation:

--> Compassion without discrimination – care for all, regardless of caste, creed, gender, location, or financial situation

--> Access to quality care – ensuring no family delays treatment due to lack of awareness or financial hardship .

-->Community responsibility – uplifting society by spreading knowledge, prevention strategies, and early detection .

--> Human dignity – treating every individual with respect, empathy, and hope

What We Do

1. Supporting Patients in Need
We provide financial help, subsidized services, and essential support to patients who cannot afford cancer treatment. This includes diagnostics, chemotherapy support, nutrition guidance, and access to palliative care.

2. Rural Outreach & Awareness
In line with the Trust’s objective of reaching underserved communities, we conduct: Cancer awareness camps
  • Early detection drives
  • Health education programs
  • Tobacco/alcohol awareness and prevention sessions

These activities directly address the Trust's mandate to spread awareness on harmful lifestyle habits and cancer prevention.

3. Education & Training Spandana Foundation works to uplift the knowledge ecosystem by:
  • Supporting training for medical practitioners in emerging cancer care methods
  • Conducting workshops, seminars, and community programs
  • Promoting public understanding of cancer diagnosis and treatment
This aligns with the Trust’s objectives around knowledge-sharing, research, and professional development.

4. Research & Knowledge Building
We encourage and support research on early detection, cancer biology, and treatment advancements, staying true to the Trust’s goal of contributing to scientific progress and improving survival rates.

5. Community Partnerships
We collaborate with NGOs, healthcare organisations, government bodies, and local groups to expand the reach of cancer awareness and patient support programs. The Trust deed emphasizes coordinating with local authorities for cancer-related initiatives, and the Foundation actively pursues this.

Why We Exist

Cancer impacts not just bodies, but families, communities, and livelihoods. Many people lose precious time due to fear, lack of information, and financial struggles. Spandana Foundation exists to change that — to help people discover cancer early, seek treatment sooner, and find strength through support and awareness.

Our founding documents clearly outline the need for:
  • Removing financial and social barriers
  • Educating communities
  • Improving access to cancer care in rural India
  • Supporting children, elderly patients, and vulnerable groups
  • Creating a healthier, more aware society
We carry that purpose forward every day.

How You Can Support

Anyone can be a part of Spandana Foundation’s mission by joining hands through:
  • Volunteering
  • Supporting awareness programs
  • Contributing to patient welfare initiatives
  • Helping sponsor diagnostic tests or treatment
  • Becoming a community ambassador for cancer awareness
Together, we can build a society where early detection, timely care, and hope are accessible to all.

A Foundation Built on Compassion and Responsibility

Spandana Foundation reflects the original intent of its founders as documented in the Trust: to offer care, guidance, prevention, education, and hope to those who need it most. It stands as a community-driven effort to reduce the impact of cancer on families and empower them with knowledge, support, and dignity.
